German Exchange 2005Every year we take part in an exchange with the Freidrich Spee Gymnasium in Dereham's twin town Rüthen. In 2005 Mr Ahrenfelt, Marion and Mrs Russell accompanied 15 pupils from Year 10 and 11 for a week in July. We flew from Stansted to Paderborn with Airberlin and all stayed with families in and around Rüthen. We went on various trips including a visit to the Zoo in Münster and to the famous Möhne Dam, scene of the Dambusters raid. We visited the historic town of Soest and also spent time exploring Rüthen itself. There was plenty of time for shopping and we also spent some time in school, either in lessons with our pen friends or having our own lessons to improve our German. The trip was a great success and everyone came back having made some great friends and feeling more confident with their German.
