Year 11 Leavers Day 2007

Goodbye Class of 2007

The day started as usual at 300 miles per hour. Alarm clock. Ablutions. Clothes. Cat. Coffee. Out the door. In the car. Mr. Guiney was conscious of arriving early as this was no ordinary work-day – this was the last school day for "the very best year group"™ – the Class of 2007.

Despite efforts to be early, however, he was to be outfoxed by the wily students of Year 11 some of whom had been in school scheming since 5.30am! Mr. Guiney's office had been 'lovingly' attacked with miles and miles of cling film – computer, printer, phone, kettle, books, even his Aston Villa emblazoned pencil sharpener: nothing escaped perfectionists Lloyd, Toby and Dan’s eyes for detail in their liberal use of kitchen products. As the pictures below show it looked like Spiderman had paid a quick visit! Poor Mrs. Todd, Mrs. George and Mr. Yassin suffered the same fate whilst Mr. Horsfield was busy desperately trying to fend off calls from eager Autotrader readers keen to snap up a cut-price Audi TT! Mr. Horsfield also found his beloved parking space had been commandeered by Ben's musical tractor and this obviously attracted lots of lower school admiration. Also, Head Girl Jess had organised a wonderful Year 11 'wave off' poster which improved the front of the school no end.

Students attended their last form sessions and ate too much cake before arriving bloated at their final assembly. Fittingly 'We are the Champions' belted out from the speakers as students collected their hallowed 'Guiney Awards' medallions. Their were a few tears, some ever-so-artistic signed shirts, and some lovely comments written in Leavers’ Books. All in all it was a fabulous day. Mr. Guiney's concluding couplet summed up what a delightful bunch you all are.

" … The year ends soon and you’re about to be dismissed,
Those were the days – you’ll be very much missed! … "

Mr. Guiney and everyone at Neatherd wish you the very best of luck in your forthcoming exams and for future happiness in everything you do. Goodbye Year 11.
