I’m a Senior
Support Scientist working on the SOHO spacecraft at the Goddard Space Flight Centre. I’m currently
working on 2 projects – the mathematical modeling of spectrometers, and
predicting weather on the sun using fractal dimensions and information of
what’s already happened. As well as this I also plan what the CDS
instrument on SOHO does and report daily on the EIT data

At school in Scotland my
favourite subject was English, and my first degree is in maths &
physics. My PhD is on genetic algorithms
for modelling the Earth’s magnetosphere.
For recreation I play volleyball in the National Mall in Washington DC. I also like hiking and travelling to exotic
places, most recently Russia, Swaziland
and Peru. I’m learning Dutch too, but I'm not very good
at it yet.
